Cheating will not be tolerated. We have now adopted a zero tolerance attitude towards cheating in any manner, including collusion, coaching, mechanics, chip scamming, chip dumping, etc. Any player suspected of cheating will be warned, and any player caught cheating will be ejected from the tournament with the possibility of a ban from our games entirely.
Cheating is not part of poker and is considered the most heinous offense in a game. We won't hammer your fingers off like they do in Vegas, but we sure won't let you come back!!
Games will start 1 hour after registration.
Please make sure you bring your resistration card to all NPPL events. This will ensure that you receive all points in a correct and timely manner. If you dont bring your registration cards, theres a chance that your points will be LOST. This makes everyone unhappy, including your NPPL Admin staff. Make your life, and everyone elses easier - BRING YOUR REGO CARD!!!
All players who bring their registration card to events will receive a NPPL lanyard. Be the envy of all your poker friends and the apple of the NPPL's eyes! Never forget your registration card again!
Coming soon to an event near YOU!
NPPL is giving even more opportunities for players to earn more cash by playing at their local NPPL venue. Instead of holding regional finals every 3 months, NPPL will be holding regional finals every 4 weeks in your region!
Even better news is that we have increased the number of regions meaning players have less pubs to compete against for the prize!!
Click here to find out more!
How does the new season work?
Instead of the traditional 13 week season plus regional, we will now be having 4 week seasons, each followed by a cash final.
How do I qualify?
Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Townsville, Cairns, Gladstone and Rockhampton will now be all players who have made a final table during the season.
Brisbane areas - qualifying criteria will be the winner plus runner up at weekly event; plus the top 10 point scorers at the venue who didn't win or finish runner up. Where there is more than one game per week at a venue, the top 20 point scorers will qualify.
Can I get a seat from a friend who has 2, or give one of my extra ones away?
NO - in the new format, seats are not transferable, but the bonus is that the more seats you win, the less players you are playing against for the cash final.
Are all the venues involved?
Yes, all NPPL venues are involved in the new format, depending on which state you are in, the format is a little different: E.g Victoria has 2 regions (Red and Black). This is made up of around 25 venues each, each will have their own 4 week season and cash final every month.
Can I qualify for more then 1 region to play in the monthly final?
Yes, because the finals will be held on different days, you can qualify for both of the cash finals by winning an event in both the regions (Red and Black).
Are there still National Finals?
NO. Players may choose the state final they attend. If they qualify more than once they may attend other state finals. Rule applies from August 9th 2010.
The top 25 point earners in each state will also be invited to the state finals.
You can find some more information here
Any other questions regarding the new format you can ask:

SA Pick of The Pubs 2009 was run and won on Sunday 6th December @ The Highbury Hotel...
With a fantastic turn out, having 19 of the 21 pubs represented we sat down to a slightly different format with over 155 players..
Pick of The Pubs Pairs Tournament:
Each pub had 6 8 qualifiers, who sat together at their pub table and played a shoot-out style game until they reached heads-up.
It was these two left in the heads up position that became a pair for their pub, and entered the main game to discover just which pub had the Champion Pair
The first pub pair was decided within 35 minutes, with the guys from The Stockade knocking each other at a rapid rate.
It was another 3 hours of grinding poker until the last pub The Highbury finally reached their heads up pair... great slog guys!!
So at 5pm with a field of 19 pairs we began the second leg of the journey one player of the pair sat down with $10K, and had to survive the first blind level.
As the blinds changed, the other partner sat in with their own 10K plus whatever player one left in their stack.
From this point on it was a freeze out, a battle royale, reducing pub by pub pair until only 8 pairs remained.
At the final Pick of The Pub Pairs table we had the following Pubs represented:
· Eureka Jamie & Boyle
· The Hub Matt & Dags
· Bridgeport Helen & Dean
· The Rex Paul & Bill
· The Rose n Crown Jasmine & Andrew
· The Highbury Gavin & Peter
· The Finsbury Kelly & Shane
· Gepps Cross Ruth & Eric
Tension really mounted here, with no player wanting to lose for his/her partner, but one by one they slowly dropped
Heads up in the Pair Event was The Finsbury & The Rose n Crown....
And after some big pushes and gutsy calling it was The Rose n Crown Pair that claimed the title of Pick of The Pubs Champions for 2009
Jasmine Osborne & Andrew Collins received a direct seat into the next NPPL National Final (Adelaide 2010) as well as their names engraved on the Champions Perpetual Plaque
Each Pub Pair will have a framed photograph to go into their pub for their achievement but...
The ultimate bragging right goes to The Rose N Crown until our next big Pick of The Pubs Champions Event

National Finals replaced by State Finals
==========================
The next National Final will be held on the Gold Coast at the Lone Star Tavern/Quality Hotel Mermaid Waters on the weekend of November 6th & 7th.
Prizemoney will be the same as the old National Finals. Qualification to these finals will be the same as with the old National Finals, i.e. finish in the top 16 at any cash final to earn your ticket, qualifying numbers in South Australia may be larger.
Players will qualify to play in the state final where they live.State finals will be held in South Australia every March, in Victoria every August and in Queensland every November.
The formats for these finals may change depending on the number of players attending each final. For example in Queensland 1360 qualifing places are on offer each year. To cater for such a number the final will be played over 3 sessions, Saturday Day & Night and Sunday.
Players split into 2 sections, playing Saturday Day & Saturday Night, each of these sessions would reduce the number of players down to 100, with the final 200 to play off for the cash on the Sunday.
Players who qualify more than once during the year may use their additional tickets to play in the other state finals.
Each year we will be naming a Team NPPL. The team will consist of 8 players. These 8 players will receive tournament entry into either the Aussie Millions, The Joe Hachem Deep Stack series or a tournament in their state. The value of these buy-in will be limited to $625 per person.
In addition these 8 players will have automatic entry at every NPPL Cash Final and every State Final. Team NPPL will supplied with NPPL Shirts & Caps.
How do players get into Team NPPL?
The 8 players to make team NPPL will be determined on a points system where the top 16 players at every Cash Final are awared points based on their finishing postion. A total of 5000 points will be on offer for each cash final.
The top 8 players nationally over the year will form Team NPPL. In the event of a tie in points the person with the highest placed finishes will be deemed to have finished highest in the points ranking.
The points allocation will be;
1st 26% = 1300 points
2nd 17% = 850 points
3rd 10% = 500 points
4th 8% = 400 points
5th 6% = 300 points
6th 5.5% = 275 points
7th 5% = 250 points
8th 4.5% = 225 points
9th 4% = 200 points
10th 3.5% = 175 points
11th 3% = 150 points
12th 2.5% = 125 points
13th 2% = 100 points
14th 1.5% = 75 points
15th 1% = 50 points
16th 0.5% = 25 points
Following a recent incident in SA, NPPL would like to remind all players of its Code of Conduct which specifically includes a ZERO TOLERANCE towards fighting, cheating and drunkeness.
Players guilty of any of these offences will be banned from the League.
